The Kinks Kartoon is a comic book created by Norwegian artist Daniel Østvold, celebrating the history and legacy of The Kinks.

Working with Daniel’s original artwork, my role was to translate the pages into motion, adding movement, timing and transitions while keeping the character and handmade quality of his illustrations intact.

Daniel’s artwork already had such a distinctive world, full of personality, humour and history. The fun bit was finding the movement within it, pulling apart the illustrations, building depth and adding animation while staying true to the spirit of the original artwork.
