It all starts with one blue mussel.
As the kelp grows, the sea gets busier. Across twelve days, crabs, starfish, seahorses, seals, dolphins and more join in. We go from one little mussel on a desolate seabed, into a thriving underwater world. Each new species celebrates the biodiversity that healthy kelp forests can support.
a growing campaign
What started as a festive campaign quickly became a part of Sussex Kelp's communications, with the characters now continuing beyond Kelpmas as a year-round series on social media, spotlighting a different marine species each month.
